Upgrade HDD to SDD on my Samsung laptop

I want to upgrade my Samsung's (NP300E4A-B09CL) HDD to an SDD.

I'm thinking on buying a CRUCIAL-SSD-M500-240GB for it but I cannot find any specs on the notebook to be sure it'll work.

Anyone can help?

EDIT

I spoke with Samsung's support, they said this computer has a SATA II HDD but it doesn't support SSD.

Is that possible? Does the motherboard has to meet special requirements to work with an SSD?

Thanks!

No, that's not true. It'll support any 2.5" SSD that supports SATAI or SATA II, which is pretty much all of them.

Thanks! Is there any doc you can link me to to confirm this? I need to be sure before buying the SSD ;)

No, but you can search for teardowns - you may have already opened the bottom and saw the standard 2.5" hard drive. Hard drives and SSDs both SATA communication standard and as far the motherboard is concerned they're essentially identically. So as long as the connection is the same (SATA) and the drive will fit (eg. 2.5" not 3.5") it will work fine. They're "doesn't support" comment is likely meant that they don't sell an SSD for it so they don't support it - the same is true of most laptop makers and most hardware that they don't sell you.

If you're still concerned, consider buying something like a compact flash to SATA adapter and using a compact flash card to test if the computer recognizes it. It's essentially the same principle, and adapters can be had for $3 on ali. Of course you'll have to provide a CF memory card.

I confirmed with Crucial support. Checked with their compatibility app.
