How to turn off ipad when digitizer and home button dont work.

I replaced a digitizer on a ipad for someone. However, when we turned it on it wouldnt slide and the home button didnt work. I cant figure out how to turn it off so I can see if the digitizer is loose

Options

Either wait for it to die, or pull up the display and unplug the battery. Unfortunately I do not believe there is a way to turn the device off if the home button and digitizer do not work.
