Headphone Jack totally unresponsive after lightning/headphone replace

just replaced my lightning connector and headphone jack cable on my iPhone 6 Plus because like in the video to replace said part, young Gwen describes the exact situation in which i found my phone in; i dropped it (repeatedly) and the lightning connector and headphone jack were a bit wonky. they still worked, though sporadically hence the need to fix if not too difficult. i've tackled other projects having iPhones before and shattering all but one screen. so, i ordered the part and replaced it tout de suite! sweet revelry! before i had to jiggle and position the charging cable just right to get a charge - now it locks into place and BANG, it's on. the headphone jack however is not recognized by the phone at all now, whereas before if I held it in just right it still worked. i get bupkis now. i reopened the phone to check my connections and everything is as it should be. took a lot of care when reassembling and double-checked worked second time. everything is back where it should be. and after looking back inside i thought maybe I didn't match up that plastic clip with the metal tab up with the tab on the connector strip, but it's all connected. could it just be a bad part?

It's just the part that's bad. Send it back, get a new one
