Water Dispenser dispenses water slowly

I have a GE PFSS2MJXASS Refrigerator and the water dispenses slowly. Ice maker works fine. I recently replaced the water filter and valve and that did not fix the problem. When i unscrew the water filter and replace it the water dispenses fine for a short time and then the flow slows down. I hear air when the filter is connected to the refrigerator so i suspect the problem is with the part that you screw the water filter into. Any ideas on how best to fix would be appreciated.

Options

You need to flush the air out of the water lines after installing new filter. Place a tall/large cup under the water dispenser and run the water untill the air is released. It usually takes 5 minuets or more and at least a gallon of water to remove all the air.
