Replace digitizer and now backlight turns off when I rise brightness

I replaced the digitizer on my IPad 2. I had no backlight so I turned the IPad off and turned it back on and backlight came back on. I raised the brightness and the backlight turned off again, so I tried putting it in recovery mode and the backlight came back on, but you have to do the complete process for it to stay on. Then you rise the brightness again and the backlight turns back off. I have done that a few times with no success. What could be the problem.

Options

Did you check to make sure your cable is seated right for the LCD? Make sure that the little latch is down all the way.
