PowerBook won't Read Hard Drive

Hi guys... I'm having the same problem as this question with my Powerbook G4 12" DVI. Couple years ago I had to change the hard drive and it was ok until a few months ago when it simply stopped working. I took it out, managed to recover the files and tested the drive on another Mac as well as on a PC and the drive works fine. Only internally in the Powerbook that it does not... Neither disk utility nor system profile (hardaware/ATA) recognize it. So it seems that it's a bad logic board or cable right? Is it common for a hd cable to go faulty? Nothing out of the ordinary happpened to it. I fear it's the logic board.... If anyone coud shine me a light it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Does the computer recognize any hard drive? If not I would try the cable first-(cheaper part) and if that fails you may have a bad logic board. Good luck Ralph
