Why did I lose touch screen ability after replacing the battery?

After replacing battery the touch screen ability will not work. This worked with the old battery. Old battery put back in the tablet (it still worked but charged erratically) and the touch screen is still not working. Any idea of what's wrong?

I suspect that you either didn't connect the digitizer cable or something was damaged in the process. First of all, take the device apart and very carefully disconnect and reconnect everything.
