Thermal power cable replacement

Hi from australia....

I purchased a 3TB Seagate as i was told it would work in my 2010 mac...

on removal i found the thermal cable in the computer was 6 pin not 4 pin like on my new 3TB Hd...

can i just buy a seagate thermal cable and make it work..

BTW: Don't fall off down there ;-} I was lucky enough to visit Sidney 30 years ago very beautiful city!
