iPhone 5 screen won't turn on, earpiece heating during charging
Hi,
I've had a iPhone 5s for approximately 18 months. Yesterday while out battery completely drained, when it was placed in charge in the evening the phones screen would not turn. I believe it was just have been taking awhile so left it in charge. I checked on it two hours later and still nothing was coming up on the display, I also notice that directly at the earpiece the phone was pretty warm (not extremely warm, my hand could remain on it comfortablely). I connected it to iTunes using my laptop, the computer binged registering that the phone although iTunes would not connect. While still connected I held down the power and menu button to preform and systems restore, the computer registered what commend on the phone, a notice came up saying the phone would restore once the update was downloaded. It never went further than that though, however I'm not sure if this may be due to the fact that the phone is password connected.
I have a feeling it may be due to a dead battery (hopefully as I've replaced them myself in previous generation iPhones) or a short circuit which is resulting in the heating.
If anyone one has any advice in relation to this problem before I start taking the phone apart and buying replacement parts it would be greatly appreciated.
Darren
