Fan stuck on after ssd upgrade

Hi, I swapped my hdd for an ssd and now my fan is stuck on full and very noisy. The guide didn't mention a sensor and I didn't see one. What have I done wrong? Cheers.

Hi,

On this link showing how to replace a HDD on a 2011 27"iMac , (which as you say doesn't mention anything about a thermal sensor)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7logpha...

under the published date details it mentions an Inline Digital Thermal sensor DIY Kit which when you expand the box to show more gives you this link

Hopefully this may be of interest to you.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate your reply. I'm working with a software solution right now, seems to have done the trick except when rebooting, but will keep this in mind. Cheers. D.

@Dami - you should get the OWC inline sensor as it will be healthier for your system.
