Why does my transmission stay stuck in park

davidpjscott you are not giving us a lot go on. It would be nice to know what year and exact model you have as well as giving us an idea of what you have tried. The common issue for not being able to pull out of Park is due to a problem with the BTSI system which consist of the brake switch, BTSI solenoid, or improper adjustment. When you push on the brake pedal hard enough the switch is activated, and current is sent to the solenoid that releases the shift lock. If either the shift lock or the switch is not working properly, you will not be able to get the vehicle out of park. check on here for more.
