1 Why is my device not issuing alerts?
My SPX 5300 Radar Laser Detector turns on normally but it doesn't issue any alerts.

The first thing you should do is check that your Cobra SPX 5300 Radar Detector is not muted. Check that the button on the middle left side that says “Mute” is not pressed, otherwise all the alerts will be shut off. If its not pressed, it might be a positioning problem. The Cobra SPX 5300 Radar Detector must be on the windshield and have an unobstructed view in order for it to receive strong signals. If you have done all this and you are still not getting any alerts, the audio might be faulty and you will want to replace it. For more help visit the troubleshooting page.
