peggy, start by trying to reset all A/V settings on all inputs. While viewing the TV, press the front panel buttons GUIDE + FORMAT at the same time. All Audio and Video settings are reset to the factory default settings. No other menu options are changed. If that does not work you can try to initialize user level which will reset all your settings exccept the V-chip settings. Press Menu-123-Enter This will all menu options and A/V settings except V-Chip are reset to factory default.

You can also check if your TV finds any errors during a code check.

Error Code Operational Check

Note: The TV must be in “Shut Down” and not have been switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to “12” No Error.

Pressing the front panel “INPUT” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds, activates the Error Code Mode. The “POWER LED” flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem has occurred since the last Initialization.

Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Let us know what you find with that.

If no error is detected and all your resets did not change anything, you may have issues with the inverter. Replacement inverter's for your TV are available for around $20USD and up. Take a couple of good images when you have to remove the back of your TV so that we can identify the boards that your TV uses.
