Keyboard delay when typing

When typing there is a delay before the letter appears. This is very annoying when trying to type a document. Is there a patch that can correct this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Diane Valovich, most likely no patch necessary but it will depend on your computer. If this just started, do a scan for spy or malware. Use a free program like Malwarebytes etc. The delay may be caused by not enough resources and I found malware to be one of the bigger offenders. It will of course also depend on what operating system you are using as well as what keyboard (wireless or wired). If it is wireless try a USB keyboard and see if that makes a difference. Furthermore it will also depend if it is just with a particular program or if it is whenever you type anywhere. If you give us more information, we may find a more concise answer. In general you are always looking for causes like this:

a) The computer is bogged down by malware

b) It doesn't have enough memory to run all open applications

c) Failing memory

d) It may need to be defragmented

e) There is a rogue process running that is consuming way too many resources

My keyboard(Toshiba Sattelite) is continually skipping key presses, or adding extra of the same letter pressed. It does this in all programs. I have to type about 1 key per second to get anything input the way it is typed. I have a Dell that has no problem with my typing, so it is not human error.
