HI I have a Neff fridge freezer with ice maker K3962x0. When switch on from being stood it works for 20 or 30 mins then trips rcd if I switch the fridge temp down to 0 it stays on.
Turn fridge temp up trips straight away
Left on with freezer only for a while then turn fridge back on runs for 20 or 30 min then trips. Any ideas?

When a fridge/freezer is kept on continuously for a long time ice collects on the plumbing around the compressor, and simply gets thicker and thicker, too thick to melt on a normal defrost. If you then switch it off for a number of hours it starts to melt and the water can get into the electrics. This may be what has happened to yours. You need to completely defrost it and ensure that everything in the control gear is bone dry before switching it on again. To do this you will probably have to remove the covers on the electrical controls to make sure there is no water inside, and you may have to replace the motor start mechanism.

Not been defrosted been stood for 3 month. Ran yesterday for 4 or 5 hrs today trips every 20 min.Just bought this American stile fridge freezer with ice maker left it 24hr then had it running 8hrs with no problem.
Today it triped the power after 25 min. I have bypassed the thermostat in the fridge checked the defrost timer and element. All working.
After it trips it won't turn back on just keeps tripping. Left it several times throughout the day powered up with fridge thermostat set to 0 to test freezer. Then turn fridge thermostat up to 1 or 4 no different still only works for 25 min.then trips rcd Any ideas. ?
