How do I move the Win8.1 boot drive to another laptop?

I want to replace my sister's hdd with mine (I get to buy a shiny new one!).

We both have Acer v3-571 models, mine's an i7 / 8Gb Ram / 750Gb while her's is an i3 / 6Gb RAM / 500Gb hdd which is failing. Machines bought at the same time.

Both were win8 upgraded to win8.1.

Will this work?

Should I use sysprep and would that destroy the data on the drive? Is that even available on win8/8.1 ?

Is it just a driver replacement exercise (I guess the answer is no)?

Any other suggestions?

thanks all.

The best way is to make system image file using Windows embedded method (Control Panel / File History and there at the bottom-right corner you'll found what you need). This is legal and free method to transfer your system with all programs and activation to another HDD/SSD.

just transfer the HDD to the other machine the windows will configure its self.. then you install the missing drivers if any... if you experience BOD then you do a SafeModeBoot and uninstall drivers (mostly Wifi which causes BOD under transferred HDDrive) then boot and reinstall correct drivers.... VOILA....
