usb not work properly

I bought the MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013/Mid 2014) Right I/O Board, and replaced it on the computer. the old one had burnt, but still read the hard drive, the new one fit in perfect, but does the same as the old one it just reads hard drives but will not read anything els like a usb mouse, ilok, anything els besides hard drives. don't know if i am missing something after install of new board. If i could get some help with this.

Any final solution to this problem? was it a fuse link?

The USB port also offers power. I suspect your externally powered HD works unlike a USB device that needs power.

On the logic board there are some fuse links that protect the system USB circuits that might have blown. But, before you replace them review inspect your devices, one caused the link to burn.

Update (10/26/2015)

If the given port is able to support your hard drive (power & signal) then the port is working.

That means the other device is not. Sounds like your USB mouse is bad.

Thanks, the usb powers the hard drive, and looks like it powers anything els i plug in. (power light turns on on usb devices) but will not read anything off of them except the external hdd. the hdd's i use do not come with external power, but the computer will power and read them.
