LG soundbar BB5520 just says "Please wait" when switching on.

I have an LG soundbar BB5520a. last night i got a pop up saying something about an update, i just selected ok (didnt really rad the message). this morning, when switching it on, it just says "Please wait" the whole time. if i press the volume up/down buttons, it seems to respond though. I tried unplugging for a whil and plugging back in and still same issue. LG suggested i put in a new pc board but as this sounds more like a software issue rathr than hardware, i was wondering if there was something else i could try?
