Hi,

What model TV is it?

Is the power switched ON at the power outlet? Test outlet with another appliance e.g. a hair dryer.

Are there any lights (e.g. standby light) showing on the TV? In the settings area of some TVs you can even turn the standby light on or off.

Have you checked the batteries are in correctly in the remote?

Is it the correct remote for the TV?

Is the remote working?

You can "see" if the remote is working by looking at the remote with a camera.

A mobile phone camera will do. Hold the remote facing the camera lens , press any button on the remote and you should see a flashing light at the end of the remote through the viewing screen of any digital camera - ideally you should try the power button when doing this test. If you see no light check your batteries or try another button on the remote. If still no good then remote is faulty.

A lot of new TVs have no actual ON/OFF power switch. They rely on the remote to turn them on - to come out of stand by. Some do have a small power button located somewhere, usually on the back , side or underneath, it varies with maker, which basically does the same as the remote control.

If you wish to turn the TV OFF rather than place it in standby, where there is no switch, I'm afraid that you will have to turn off the power outlet.

If you've tried everything above and it still won't turn on then it seems as if there is a power issue with your TV. If it is still under warranty contact the manufacturer regarding repair.
