little sound shaking the device gently

Hi.

Shaking gently my Iphone 4 i can hear a little sound as like a screw, which isn`t fixed. Pressing the "sleep button" on top of the device and shaking it, the sound isn`t hearable.

Do you have an idea wherefrom this sound comes?

Thanks.

You said it sounds like a screw which isn't fixed - did you open your iPhone / do any repairs before this happened? If so, what repairs?

Hi. I didn`t either repair or open the Iphone. My question was morelike, if you can imagine the reason for the sound.

Thanks!

Gabriel, I tested this with an iPhone 4, the sound that you are hearing when you shake your phone is in fact just the sleep button itself. This is why the noise goes away when you hold the sleep button in place. You in fact don't need to push the button down all the way to stop the noise, you can just hold the button still with your finger. This seems to be true of all iPhone 4's - there's nothing loose, or wrong with your phone at all. Good catch though!

It could be the iPhone's vibrator that you hear when you shake it.

Hi, in my opinion the vibrator isn`t located on the left side of the device. And:

Pushing the sleep button on the left side of the Iphone while shaking it gently make the sound insist. So my question is, if you can imagine a reason or mechanism that explains that the sound is terminated when I push the button.

Thanks

The vibrator is in fact on the top left corner of the iPhone 4, when the device is viewed from the front. For proof, check the guide Matt linked. :) The reason it looks like the vibrator is on the top right in the guide is that in Step 3, the device was flipped over to access the rear panel.

Okay, thanks. Another aspect. While shaking it and hearing the sound AND pushing the button (during shaking!) the sound DOES continue.

What you're describing is something different than what I've heard in the past - you may want to check and make sure nothing is loose inside.

I think it is the camera lens, since this is autofocus, mine is doing it too also when I put it on the table.
