Changing out the dc power jack on my laptop.

The power input jack on my laptop is broken. So, I ordered another one that claimed it was compatible. However, when it got here, I immediately saw that it says 90w on it while the one I took out of the laptop says 65w. Would using this jack cause a problem?

Thanks for your time.

Mark Weaver, not sure why your DC jack would say any wattage on it. unless you are of course talking about your AC power supply. You can use a higher wattage on this without any issues for as long as the voltage is identical
