Accidently damaged my iPhone 5c battery with metal..Please help me

Hi, today i just opened my iPhone to tighten the connectors because i was experiencing problem with my iPhone screen but during screwing i accidentally hit the battery with metal screwdriver there was little scratch on battery and battery sparked.. iPhone just turned off and was not working but when i put it on charging it starts working fine .. do i need to replace battery? or just leave it working as it is? is it dangerous or not?

Yikes! Get that battery out now! If it's still working, then yeah, a simple battery replacement should do the trick
