RAM supported by a MacBook Pro 13in mid 2010?

I have already installed 8gb and am wondering if it's possible to upgrade to 16gb. Some forums says the maximum a Macbook Pro Mid 2010 supports is 8gb while other says it's 16gb.

Could someone clarify please? My model is Macbook Pro Mid 2010 13in.

Yes! It can be confusing!

First here is my goto source: EveryMac.Com - MacBook Pro 13" 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo (Mid-2010)

I can tell you with the latest firmware update: About EFI and SMC firmware updates for Intel-based Mac computers or newer as some OS updates update the firmware. Get the correct memory modules (1066 MHz PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM) 16 GB of RAM. Make sure you have a matched pair and get them from a good source.

Lastly, you'll need to be running Mavericks or newer OS-X

Thank you mate! That's really helpful. I think I've found the model you mentioned on your comment. Is this the right one?

The specs are correct. Sadly, I don't know this company (there are quite a lot of resellers out there!) Thats not to say the modules won't work. Just make sure you can return them if they have a problem.

Thank you, Dan! Will give a try on that model, let's see what happens. I believe they do accept returns in case something goes wrong.
