i tried charging my iphone 4 with a usb on a wall charger it pop's the charging icon but the battery percentage is not getting high it just decreasing and now my battery is dead.
one more think , by mistakenly i put my iphone in a ground approximately 2 meters in height does this will be reason my iphone is not charging

Usually if you see the charging indicator but the battery is being charged you would need a new battery installed.
