iPod battery not charging after hard drive replacement

Two weeks ago I replaced the hard drive in an ipod I had purchased on ebay. (Yes I was DUPED) I have not needed to recharge my battery until yesterday because the battery power was fine. Anyway I am two days into trying to charge the battery with zero success. I don't know which version I have. Is it possible something went wrong with the installation of the hard drive or do I just need to accept that now I need a new battery?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Melissa, possible that you need a new battery. It will definitely not hurt. Also, make sure that iTunes still properly identifies your iPod. Always make sure that your dock connector is free of any debris, no broken or bend pins. The only other issue with this model iPod is the battery connector. It does have a tendency of breaking of the logic board. So you do want to check on that when you replace the battery.

I have the same issue. I cleaned the dock connector and checked the pins as you said, everything seems alright. Logic board seems okay as well, at least no visible physical damage. My battery was okay before me replacing the hard drive. Would you suggest getting a new battery and checking with it or just getting another iPod (assuming broken logic board cannot be fixed if that’s the case)?
