Is there any way to fit an ipad4 in ipad air casing

My question is can like i replace the outer covering of my ipad 4 4g with that of ipad air.. i know that the battery will not fit but other than that.. motherboard stand offs etc. I have proper tools and experience but before buying an outer covering of an ipad air.. i just want to check. Hope you like my idea
