Acer Aspire 4810TG How to switch power modes other than Windows modes

Acer Aspire 4810TG

Hi everyone,

My Acer Aspire 4810TG laptop by default runs on Windows' Balanced power plan as recommended, both when it's on mains and when it's on battery.

However, apart from the Windows power settings, the laptop seems to switch between two other power modes, because when I switch from mains to battery (or vice versa) the screen momentarily goes dark, and the CPU runs considerably slower and cooler on battery than it does on mains.

Like I said, this seems to happen totally independent of the Windows 'Balanced' power setting.

However, I can't find the menu anywhere where I can view and maybe edit the properties for these power settings. Has anyone noticed this about their laptop as well, and does anyone know how to access the properties for these power modes?

Thanks in advance!

Kindly yours,

Rob Stoutjesdijk

You didn't mention an operating system, but I find that if you right-click on your battery icon in the task bar, you can select 'Change display brightness' from that menu. That will bring up a screen where you can not only adjust the screen brightness, but also see what power settings you are running on. Each one will have setting for the laptop when it's plugged into the wall as well as running on battery.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for your answer, however your suggestion leads me to the windows power settings, which don't have any effect on what happens like I described.
