Does a battery replacement require a backup?

Can you help me ifixit? I had a battery replaced by another company. The repairer said he needed my password to get into my phone. I since learnt he saved private photos of me that were locked in a vault to his google account. He explained that he did a back up of my phone and forgot to delete them. How can this happen as no other photos were saved - just the ones in the vault?

Battery replacement doesnot require any backup at all. Infact any hardware replacement doesnot require any back ups, although its safe to do so, just incase you run into some softwares issues after hardware replacement(chances less than 1 in thousands).

Sorry to say, you should not have given the password just for changing the battery.

I still need help. The repairer now said my photos were backed up to his computer for safety. He told me that the photos from the camera roll were saved to a separate folder to the photos in my private vault. He never said why this happened. He said that he only saw the folder with the camera roll photos and deleted them after he replaced the battery. I am still wondering how my photos from the vault ended up in his google account - would he have had saved them there or does it do it automatically?
