Power button not working

Hey, I own a Dell Inspiron 530s tower system. For some days now, i tried powering it on but it aint turning on. I opened the machine, the light on the motherboard turns on green and power supply indicator at the back lights up green too. I think the power button is broken. Please any recommendations or opinions are highly welcome. Thanks

If you think the power button is faulty you can jump start it by idendifying the power on pins on the motherboard.

Trace the wiring from the power button to the motherboard. It may be part of a bigger plug of other devices from the front panel, around the plug (In really small writing) it will say what each pin is for, you are looking for PWR + and PWR - or GND. This will power on the pc if it is the power button that is faulty.

Also depending on the socket and that you have a reset button you could switch the pins in the plug moving the RST + and - to PWR + and - .

If you don't have a reset button the BIOS might have an option "Power on at AC" when enabled, if you plug in the power at the back the system will power on straight away, will save you jumping it everytime.

Good luck.
