After having replaced my cracked screen, I cannot get a decent response from my tablet. It often goes into programs or apps that I didn't ask for and sometimes I cannot even answer calls.

It sounds like your digitizer could have been damaged in the repair. Try moving your finger around the screen and seeing if there is any particular area that doesn't work or if its just bad everywhere . You may need to change the screen again and this time with the digitizer. Is there any discoloration in the screen sort of yellowish areas or faded if so it could also have a damaged LCD.
