WIFI was flakey then stopped working

My Samsung Note 10.1 (2014 edition) tablet had worked for about a year then the WIFI started disconnecting and reconnecting. It progressively got worse until it would intermittently connect for a minute or 2 before the WIFI died completely. I tried several different access points and had the same issue. Tried turning WIFI off/on turning airport mode on/off and rebooting the device. Still had the problem so I did a factory data reset but that didn't resolve the issue either. At first I was thinking it was a software issue but now wonder if it is hardware related and if the problem is somewhat common?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Erik,

I would role out the software issue since the factory reset didnt help you and because the problem appear progressively. It looks more like a faulty part that was dying.

I think it maybe your baseband or Wifi IC chips. Or one of the components that are related to thoses chips.

Aside if have High soldering skills and good equipement (mostly a good microscope), I dont recommend that you try to repair this yourself.

You can ask Jessa from iPad Rehab if you live in the US. But I not even sure that she we be able to help you since it's a somewhat uncommon issue.
