Freezer-side temp intermittent in Kenmore Pro

The freezer in my Kenmore Pro side-by-side refrigerator stopped working properly about 10 days ago and has only been roughly the same temp as the fridge side while the temp gage shows readings all over the place.

I did the self diagnostic and it said fan motor malfunction so I ordered the unit from Sears; I received the part yesterday but when I got home, the freezer was working and making ice and no error codes. The temp did climb to 8 degrees over night (still no error codes)

Any thoughts?
