Why my Samsung SSD 850 EVO won't format in mac?

I keep getting this error when I try to format my SSD: wiping volume data to prevent future accidental ssd. I've read it might be the SATA cable but I'm deeply hoping that's not the case. I was installing it in the main bay where the original HD was and got that error. Tried using the USB port and it apparently works.

any suggestions? I already checked the link new ssd errors when tryin to install
