Dark splotch and lines on my PS Vita display

Hi my son's PS Vita's display has a large dark splotch and black lines - dead pixels? This happened all of a sudden not sure if it fell, the actual screen is fine and not cracked Any ideas? Can this be serviced? - thanks

What you are describing is a broken LCD,. A broken LCD will exhibit the symptoms you have outlined. Replacement is fairly straight forward. Goto Amazon, search PS Vita LCD and purchase an LCD. Youtube has several tutorials that show you how to replace.
