Drum struggles to spin
Hi All,
I have a Samsung wf1602w5s.
My wife put a very heavy load in which is above the recommended weight, halfway in I heard a mechanical squeaking noise and seen the drum was just rocking back and forth, unable to spin freely.
I took the load out and tried to continue with a normal light load but it is still doing this.I
If there is near nothing in the drum (a few socks) it struggles to do the normal cycle but is able to execute a high RPM cycle. Meaning there is nothing blocking free movement.
I can turn it by hand. I also opened up the back and can see there is still sufficient tension on the belt.
Could the motor bushings be worn down, the motor itself shot, maybe something much simpler such as an unever load sense?
I don't know how these machines work so any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
UPDATE: Now I am getting a "UE" error when I try very light loads on the final high RPM cycle which I believe is an Uneven load?
UPDATE 2: If I do a spin cycle I can hear something trying to spin but it is not catching, just spinning around what it is supposed to be catching, it took once and spun at 400RPM and then went back to not spinning
UPDATE 3: I opened the back and started a spin cycle. I can see the motor is spinning, the belt is spinning and the spindle behind the drum is spinning, but the drum itself is not, so I am assuming the teeth that hold the spindle to the drum are the problem, anyone know how to get into these too see what is going on? I am going to attempt this and probably break it before I get any responses so wish me past tense luck,
Is this a good question?
