What part should I replace?

So i just dropped my iphone, and when i turned it over, my screen was completely cracked. Really annoying, but the good part is that the touch and touch ID work, so i was looking for places to repair it and guess what: it's freaking expensive (85 USD in my country) but looks like they will replace the whole screen and i only broke the glass, so i searched for the gorilla glass and it's only 7 USD, but they won't change it for me, i must do it (not bad, one of my friends told me he could, for free)

Is it right? i mean, can i just change the glass? cause my screen is working OK and i can't afford changing it completely

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

paaau, sorry to hear about your mishap. Issue at hand is cost. So you have a $650 USD phone and you are contemplating spending $7 on having a friend fix it (BTW nothing is ever really for free:-). You better make sure that your friend is willing to buy you a new phone if the touch ID' fails after or even worse your phone bricks with an error 53. My suggestion would be to have it professionally done. I would even go as far as suggesting that you let Apple fix it. That way you are guaranteed that it is properly fixed and that you do not have any issues with it after. Just my 2 cents...

considering that he works repairing phones on a well-known shop here in my city, i strongly trust him haha and i guess the Apple option isn't factible (the nearest one is like... 800 km away)
