No sound at all

I just got a DS Lite as a present, but it doesn't make any sound. Not speakers, not headphones, no noise at all. Headphones do make a little static noise when pluged in our out. Speakers also make some kind of noise when I turn on the DS, but nothing more.

Any solution? Probably motherboard has to be changed...

Also I probably should mention that this one is European version. At least the charger is.
