Why is my car still overheating

I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE with a 2.2L Ecotec engine. I recently had a mechanic put in a brand new water pump, thermostat, radiator and did a head job. New head gasket. Spark plugs, oil filter and oil. It has been about a week since the reapirs and now my heads gasket has blown again! What could be the cause of this?

If you've blown a head gasket for a second time leave that engine at the curb and find another . the head or the engine block have heat distortion and need to be milled to assure that it doesnt hapen again and if the bottom end has been exposed to coolant than you should probably rebuild the bottom end so a new or another motor is sound advice

If the heads were warped and the mechanic just put them back on without milling them the gasket wouldn't last long. If the head gasket was blown and you had anti freeze in the bottom end(the oil looked like chocolate milk) then it wont last long either .I wouldn' t be wasting more money on that engine find a replacement.
