Hello,

During the replacement of your screen on the iPhone 5s, 6 and 6+ you MUST transfer over the original home button. There are coded values between the Ax processor and the Touch ID that MUST match for the Touch ID to functional properly.

On the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ there is the long "Touch ID extension flex cable" that runs down the back of the heat shield on the LCD assembly. This can become damaged and doing so may cause the Touch ID to stop working. There are data buses and the physical button contact on that flex cable.

I'm sure you get my point now, the flex cable is a cheap fix, simply buy a new one from eBay, ifxit, or amazon and replace.

Thanks,

Nate

Double check your home button flex cable is securely on the socket on both ends. The bottom back of the display and then the top where it clusters with the rest of the cables. It could even help to unplug and replug the flex cable on both ends. If it isn't secure, the home function may work but not the ID.
