Didn't help. When it first broke, would get a back lit screen, briefly, then went dark. Charged it overnight. Won't power up at all now. I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Any help? (Tried the pwr switch for 20 secs, wait 5 secs, try pwr again. No joy. Tried with pwr plugged in and without... Help?

Hello Richard

Have you tried resetting your Kindle Fire by hold down the power button for at least 20 seconds, then let go for 5 seconds and then this time just press the power button again?

The Kindle Help desk advises holding the off button for 40 seconds. Didn't help me but might work for you.
