iPhone lowers sound volume to mute without purpose

Hi,

since a short time my iPhone 3g lowers its sound volume whenever i move it, push on the screen or shake it. this started all of a sudden with no damage to the Phone at all.

I wonder if a "iPhone 3G/3GS Headphone Jack Assembly / Black" replacement would fix the problem or if the Problem might be worse.

Does anybody know this problem at all ?

Options

since the switches are only thick metal foils, they can make "funny things" when they are bend. replacing the whole assembly will fix the problem
