Phone doesn't charge, switch batteries and it charges

So with the original battery in, it doesn't charge, no signs of life power. I put in a new battery, it charges so the charging port is ok. I put the old battery back in and it also charges. Any idea why this is? I am seeing it on multiple devices.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Not sure what is going on. With any electronic devices, sometimes you need to disconnect the power source to reset the device properly. iPhones are always connected to the battery, other devices you can simply unplug the device or easily remove or disconnect the battery for a moment. Maybe removing the iPhone from power (its battery) for a few moments fixed the problem.

Sounds likes you used an aftermarket charger and fried the U2 IC.
