Can I change the laptop dc jack type?

Hi, My laptop dc jack keeps failing after 6 months of use, every time i get it changed to the same type of jack that the laptop came with and every time it fails after 6 months, now my question is: can i use a different dc jack type from the one i usually install?

mo awad, most likely not because of size limitations. Some of the failure will depend on where it fails. Either on the adapter side or the board side, could be just by the way it is mounted.
