Apple chimes, but not booting.
Ok, I have just installed the logic board for this computer. I press the power button and I hear the Apple chime, but the computer does not actually come on. Fan is running. But the screen is dark. When i close the lid, I can see the front light on. When I open back up the lid, it will ultimately shut down. ** prior to installing this used logic board, I had installed 2 others from another company to no avail. At that point the computer would power on, chime and then begin to boot to about a quarter of the way before shutting down and repeating that process over again.
Is this a good question?
A history of the machine might help us with diagnostics. Why are you changing the boards?

The DC-in was not charging the battery and I felt it was my only option. having to keep taking out the battery to charge elsewhere was not a viable option.

The DC-In board does not control charging. U7000 ISL6259 does.

Try an external video source to rule out LCD issues?

With the motherboard that got you into a partial boot-restart loop, have you tried to reinstall the OS, or even install it on another HDD?
