blinking folder with question mark

i put another working hard drive inside and the problem sussists

i plug an external drive and boot from there and everything is fine.

so the SATA cable is broken?

now the bump is on the opposite part of the hard drive location.. could some other part be the problem?

i hope it´s not the logic board...

Check the HDD cable. It may loose or possibly damaged.

Pretty serious "bump" to dent the case that much.

Most likely the drive is also dead from such a bump if it was running (sleep mode) or even not running.

no, hard drive is working. i plugged it externally and it's fully operational.

Hi,

I had the same problem.

Your sata cable needs to be replaced. You can buy a new sata cable. It's a 10 min repair. I did it with the ifixit guide and it works since.
