has anyone experience in LCD replacement on an iMac

my four yr old iMac 27" is blacking out, while staying reachable either under afp or vmc protocol. Obviously there is a problem with the screen. A test in an repair center proved a defective LCD. The repair center requires an abnormal price for repair. Any suggestions in the price range 200 - 300 € would be welcomed

Hey Anton!

The trickiest part of a G5 display replacement is simply removing the white bezel. There's a latch that you will need to release using a card (credit/debit cards work great!). iFixit has a great guide on how to remove it.

As for the price of the repair, I would take to the internet before spending 2-300€, in 30 seconds I found this used G5 display for $50 USD.

Best of luck! - I'd be happy to answer any further questions, so feel free to reach out!
