when it is unplugged the mouse acts jerky
Hello I have a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro - it runs perfectly fine with AC Adapter connected (activity monitor shows ~ 1.9% for kernel use); however, when it is unplugged the mouse acts jerky and the performance is VERY slow - (activity monitor shows kernel jumps to ~98%+
did reset of PR and PMS reset, etc. safe mode start - but same result - laptop perfect with AC adapter connected , on battery all but unusable...
Went to Best Buy and they diagnosed that the power bus voltage was low...
I replaced the battery with an Amazon one - installed , but no difference. (By the way the Appel Diagnostics returned a defective battery because it was not an Apple OEM, but battery was fine)
re-installed the old apple battery, no difference - so going to give this cleaning a try - can I use spray electric disconnect cleaner?
Any advice about the problem would be greatly appreciated - ended up getting a new MacBook - but the old one can only be used like a desktop - okay but not a real plus....
Is this a good question?

Same problem here! Macbook Pro Unibody late-2011 gets CPU spike when unplugged, jerky mouse included. I've replaced the battery also, no improvement.
What specific area needs to be cleaned? Internals look ok to me and I can't seem to see any really dirty areas.
