How to secure a second internal hard drive with a password

Hi,

If I was going to add a dual hard drive in my macbook pro 13" unibody late 2010. How do I put a password protect on my second hard drive if any cases it needs to be serviced by APPLE later on? That way nobody can get access to all my files.

Update

That means I have to move all my files first before doing this process otherwise I will loose it.

So, how is this going to secure my files on the secondary drive (Optical Bay) while being serviced by APPLE in the future? Will it give me the option to add password?

In your "Disk Utility" app select the drive you want to format. In the format type choose "mac os extended (journaled encrypted)"
