Why is my PS2 Not Turning On?

So I go to play on my PS2 for the first time in a while, and I cant turn the thing on! I checked the power in the room and the cable that connects the system to the outlet and it works fine, and I'm not sure if tearing it apart is a good idea without getting some suggestions.

A blinking red and green from a PS2 means that somewhere in the PS2 has overheated too far and caused damage to it's components.
