iPad Mini 2 won't turn on

Hi,

So I realize this post is a bit preemptive since I don't actually have the iPad in my hands yet but I bought a broken 32 gb iPad mini 2 wifi on ebay the other day, and I'm trying to come up with a plan of action on how to diagnose what's wrong with it and how I can fix it.

All I know about the iPad is that it doesn't turn on, not sure if anything happens when you plug it in because the seller didn't really answer my question when I asked (but I assume if it were to just vibrate a couple times without powering on it's just a loose battery cable as is the case with iPhones). However, if this is not the case, what should I be looking at next? Could it be a faulty battery, or something else? And how would I be able to tell? Finally, if nothing else appears to work and it's possible that the ipad is water damaged, could anything be done about that to fix it?

Thanks in advance

I have the same problem with an iPad mini 2. Was working fine earlier in the day put it down and came back to it about 4 hours later and it would not come on. Will not reset or respond to any buttons. When plugged in to computer it doesn't open iTunes. Plugged in to charger nothing happens. I don't understand how this happened or why. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Try to make soft reset (power+home for 10 secs, power only for 5 seconds).

First of all Thanks to jbposlovno, My wife's iPad stop working on a Thursday. Right when she needed it the most. I picked it up to try to reset it, I was stop quickly by my wife. She yelled "tried everything, don't worry about it I'll get it fix. I told her no problem, I have 2 year warranty. When I check the warranty it expired 1 month before her iPad stop working. 3 days later I grab her iPad without her knowing & goggle the problem. Simple fix, it's up & running great. thanks to Gerald Tyson.

I also have kinda same issue.

When you try to turn on, it only shows Itunes logo in red. If you connect to itunes it says it needs to either update / resent, when do you either of them at the ends sends ERROR 27 werent able to do. When the system is extracting the software and in the ipad appears the apple logo with loading bar, it just stays there. :(

Thats probably Red Screen of Death.

"The most common cause of the “Red Screen of Death” is damage to the Front Camera and Sensor Cable. First, force restart the iPad. If the problems persists, use the Front-Facing Camera and Sensor Cable guide to disconnect the flex cable from the logic board, and then reboot the iPad. If the iPad boots up without showing the red screen, go ahead and replace the cable."
